Muhammad Reports from Tribal Areas, Pakistan

July 22, 2007

Dear John E. Carey, Peace and Freedom

Dear Sir, Really I have no words to present my gratitude for your long involvement in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Your emails full of advice and support have given me untold happiness. I shall repeat my words you have been terrific. You are the first person, who heard the voice of my heart. I want to tell you that the whole people of tribal areas have the same feelings.

For the last three or four years I have been living with my own people, who are in the state of terror.

Dear Sir, the impression being created by those who have vested that the people of tribal have been hating the Americans is wrong. Most of the tribesmen have been loving the Americans.

Now the government has started taking some corrective steps in the war against terror in the tribal areas. But there are still some officials who have creating hurdles in way of sincere people.

Situation in Waziristan area is the same as the terrorists have been attacking the security forces.

The government-formed jirga, council of so-called elders have been holding talks with Taliban and terrorists.

According to a report, North Waziristan grand jirga deliberations were underway for second day on Saturday, for revival of the peace deal and lasting peace in the region. Local Taliban and ulema were engaged in talks for lasting peace and revival of the peace deal in the area, jirga sources said. The members of jirga have formed different committees for talks, which were holding talks with Taliban and ulema in Dattakhel and Razmik in the vicinity of Miranshah.

Local tribesmen have agreed in the first day of the talks for maintenance of peace in the region but urged for satisfying their reservations with regard to the deal, members of the jirga said. They hoped that key progress in the talks is likely today.

Dear Sir, I am really grateful to you. Thank you very much.

Yours sincerely,

Muhammad Khurshid
