Reports said that several trenches were destroyed as several gunship helicopters pounded Taliban positions in the Bamakhela area of Matta tehsil in Swat, while the death toll from Sundays suicide attack rose to 14.Mingora Media Centre In-charge Colonel Nadeem informed that the helicopters had targeted Taliban positions at Bamakhela this (Monday) evening. Blast toll mounts to 14: Meanwhile, the number of those killed in Sunday’s suicide attack has mounted to 14 as two more dead bodies, identified as Sakeena of Madian and Nawab of Amankot, were shifted to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital from the blast scene.
Around 12 people, including four security personnel and eight civilians, were killed as a suicide bomber struck a military convoy at Nawe Kalay near Mingora on Sunday. A bomb disposal squad also defused a bomb planted along the roadside in Charbagh.
