Nguyen Minh Triet re-elected Vietnam president

HANOI (AFP) – Vietnam‘s new National Assembly on Tuesday overwhelmingly re-elected President Nguyen Minh Triet, seen as an advocate of sweeping economic reforms, as head of the communist state, officials said.

He recently became the first post-war Vietnamese head of state to visit the United States.
